FAQs

My name is Kathryn Rogers, and I have been writing professionally for decades, much of it as a full-time national newspaper journalist and columnist.

During those years, I’ve written on every subject imaginable for national newspapers, including the Irish Press, Sunday Press, Irish Independent, Sunday Tribune, Irish Sun and Irish Daily Star newspapers. I’ve also worked on magazines, periodicals, trade journals and produced annuals for UK publishers.

As a ghostwriter, I have helped bring more than a dozen books to publication. Many of these authors have enjoyed critical and sales success on the official Nielsen bestsellers lists.

As an editor, I work on many manuscripts across diverse topics. I copy edit material, revising and rewriting where necessary. During the process, I also proofread for grammar, spelling and punctuation. My job is to ensure that authors can be proud of their work and confident their manuscript is ready for publication.

My job is to create a riveting read and produce a professional manuscript that my author is proud of and is ready for publishing.

As a ghostwriter, I’m a collaborative partner on my authors’  projects. I produce or edit material that lets their personality as authors shine through.

I can also help authors decide on the right publishing path for their project, and I offer a seamless experience for anyone who needs help shaping their story into a book.

Some of my authors have completed or started manuscripts when we first meet. However, most are first-time authors who have never written anything and are happy to leave the writing to someone else!

Our work begins with a series of interviews, which I record. Then through an exchange of feedback, research and ideas, we usually develop your story on a chapter-by-chapter basis.

The process is up to you, however. If you’re an author who doesn’t have the time or prefers to be hands-off, you can review more extensive drafts of your book as it suits.

Some authors are happy to credit my involvement with their stories. A few of their publications can be seen on the ‘books’ tab above. These books are available in good bookstores or on Amazon.co.uk.

Confidentiality agreements and contracts with others do not allow me to disclose my involvement in all my authors’ books.

Of course. It’s your story, so you are the author, and you retain all the rights to your book when you work with me.

I’ve written, co-written and edited everything from autobiographies, memoirs, corporate and family histories to business, beauty, fashion, travel and self-help guides and children’s books.

I write for all sorts of people. Some authors are high-profile figures. Others are subject matter experts who are too busy running businesses to write high-quality content. However, most of my clients are ordinary people with extraordinary stories to tell.

Some authors’ books have found representation with agents and have been bought by traditional UK and Irish publishers such as Hachette, Transworld and Random House. Other clients have successfully self-published their stories. Please see more details on the ‘Books’ page above.

Of course, costs will play an important part in your decision-making when writing a book or hiring a ghostwriter.

For a ghostwriter, completing a book usually involves several months of work. For you, the author, a book will have a lifespan that will extend way beyond your lifetime.

If your book is meaningful to you – personally or professionally – please feel free to contact me, and we can discuss your project.

It costs nothing to ask!
